Give every campaign a spend ceiling on day one
The failure mode nobody plans for is a bad ad. It is a campaign that keeps buying at three in the morning because automatic bidding found more inventory, and quietly spends four figures before anyone opens the dashboard.
Every account we run carries a daily and a monthly ceiling enforced by a scheduled job with API access, not by a note in somebody’s calendar. As spend approaches the ceiling, budgets step down rather than the account switching off — pacing degrades instead of the channel dying overnight.
That turns a financial incident into a performance one, which is a far better class of problem. It also makes the unit economics of a channel legible before you scale it, rather than after the invoice arrives.
